Christmas Presents Part 2

On Friday Carmen put Caleb's boots on to see how they fit and how he might like them. Well, he wouldn't let her take them off. I guess he likes them. In the process of Caleb learning to "ride" his horse, he accidentally got it turned on. We had no idea it made noise--I guess we should have known. Do they make toys anymore without noise makers? Anyway, I say accidentally because he was pounding it against the floor like a hammer when it came on. After that I taught him how to ride it and lift its head up when it whinnied. So the first picture is of him riding and in the second picture he's lifting its head for the whinny. I'll be putting a video on later of this whole experience!

Christmas Presents Part 1

Okay so we have to start by saying that the dump truck was opened first and to be honest he wasn't really interested in anything else.
It is true that we got him to sit for a few more presents, but they basically became things to haul in his truck.
This is the box his boots from Nana came in and he was much more interested in it than the boots--at least until a few days later. More on that in part 2.
This book with the animal sounds finally got his attention. He sat through the whole thing, then went back to his dump truck. :)

Winter Time Fun

We had a pile of snow a couple weeks ago. And I got to stay home. We wend sledding and built a snowman. The last picture here was taken on Christmas Eve. The boys were trying to stay out of Momma's way and tried to find some snow up in the mountains. It was real slushy and not very good for sledding, but I got this great picture of the little man.

Handbell Choir

Christmas Eve and the handbell chior performed again. This is us with my favorite, Ukranian Bell Carol! And, believe it or not, I didn't mess up on this one at all! The song right before this; however, is another matter. I bonged out a loud and clear F sharp where I was supposed to play an F. Anyway, enjoy!

Ice Sledding

Caleb and I took a trip to Ward Lake last Saturday. With all our cold weather it was frozen very solid! Caleb loved his sled ride, and since a skiff of snow had laid down for us, he could walk--even run--around and have a grand time!

Christmas Tree Time

The Nollmeyer's braved true Alaskan weather to get the big tree this year. It was cold and windy--Caleb was frozen (by the shock of it all). In reality he came out with cold cheeks and nothing more. However, I came out sweating! Between lugging him and the tree across the frozen muskeg--I couldn't get my layers off fast enough. Interesting thing happens as you travel further and further through cold windy conditions. Trees that wouldn't ever make the cut at the beginning start to look better and better. One thing can be said about our poor mountain hemlock, I don't thing Charlie Brown will have a tree for his show this year, ha ha!
