Pumpkin Picking

Saturday we went to Rocky Creek Farms to pick out a pumpkin. It was a beautiful day (temp in the 60's). They had lots of activities for kiddos: straw bale "forts" for climbing, face painting, tire swings, apple cider making, and hay rides. The actual pumpkin picking is kind of odd: they apparently ship in the pumpkins and then put them out in a field to make it look like you're picking them. (Apparently it must be too cold in Bozeman for pumpkin growing?) Regardless of the lack of authenticity, the boys had a great time!

First Snow...

Okay, okay...so it didn't snow much or stick around long, but it definitely still counts. Caleb could hardly contain himself at breakfast he was so excited to go "build a snowman":-). Of course there wasn't enough snow for that but they were happy enough just tromping around in it while it lasted. Last week we had temps in the 80 degree range--gotta love these drastic MT temperature changes!

Harvest Time!

A couple of weeks ago we took the boys over to Wilsall to "experience" barley harvest for the first time. Though Daniel was a bit on the terrifed side of all of the machinery, Caleb loved riding in the combine with Uncle Rod and in the grain truck with Grandpa. They both enjoyed helping Grandpa eat all of his snacks too :-)
